Position Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will focus on advancing equity in hiring by implementing inclusive programs, integrating best practices, and driving impactful recruitment strategies. This role contributes to Bridgewater State University's commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone can thrive by:* Implementing initiatives that attract and engage diverse talent;* Building sustainable partnerships with internal campus partners, universities, industry groups, and equity-focused organizations;* Enhancing candidate experiences using equitable processes and innovative tools.* Equipping hiring teams with the resources and training they need to create inclusive and fair hiring practices.* Serving as a talent specialist to staff search committees and hiring managers to attract and retain top talent.* Enhancing the University's employer brand by promoting its culture, values, and career opportunities through various channels such as social media platforms, videos, advertising and website management.This position is a non-unit, FLSA exempt position; the terms and conditions of which are governed by the State Universities Non-Unit Professional Administrators Handbook. This position is an on-campus position with eligibility for a hybrid remote work option in accordance with the University's Remote Work Policy.Essential Duties
* Implement creative talent acquisition strategies and promote the University's employer brand to attract and retain top talent through various channels such as social media platforms, videos, advertising and website management.* Serve as talent acquisition partner to search committees; implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates; and promote inclusive hiring practices throughout the search process.* Utilize various talent sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, professional networks, and recruitment events & fairs to identify and attract a diverse pool of talent.* Create, edit, and monitor content on the Talent Acquisition department web page.* Facilitate the full recruitment process from creating a position requisition and circulating for approval to finalizing staff hiring offers and approvals utilizing university applicant tracking system.* Ensure job posting details are accurate and include title, classification, salary/budget and are compliant with collective bargaining agreements.* Perform salary analysis to recommend fair, equitable, and competitive salary offers.* Create hiring proposals for staff positions via the applicant tracking system.* Draft offer letters and begin the onboarding process for new employees.* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.* Provide support & guidance to search committee chairs & members to ensure an effective search process. Communicate with search chairs throughout the process.* Research and recommend recruitment practices that enhance diversity and inclusion within the workforce, including outreach to underrepresented groups.* Educate & train search committees about equity-minded hiring practices and AA/EEO regulations, employment laws, collective bargaining provisions and University policies and procedures.* Maintain position descriptions for all staff employees.* Conduct position analysis and position reallocations to ensure positions are properly classified within organizational structure and are aligned to meet divisional and university strategic intentions; responsible for tracking reclassification documentation and conducting desk audits. .* Coordinate pre-employment screenings - physicals, background checks, etc.; serve as primary contact for Commonwealth of Massachusetts CORI/SORI program processing and maintenance of requests.* Maintain staffing & recruitment-related files in accordance with records retention guidelines.* Provide customer service to internal and external applicants.* Serve as onboarding ambassador.* Create and run workforce analysis reports on recruitment and hiring diversity metrics.* Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, salary benchmarks, and emerging talent acquisition best practices.* Assist in unemployment claims and processing.* Serve on committees assigned.* Related work and projects as assigned.Required Qualifications
Successful candidates will be individuals that can work collaboratively with their colleagues in Human Resources & Talent Management and across the university to provide educational, working and living environments that value the diverse backgrounds of all people.* Bachelor's degree.* Ability to identify, build and maintain relationships with potential candidates, staff, faculty, and University partners in effort to attract talent.* Passion for and commitment to social justice, racial justice, and civic engagement.* Experience developing distribution strategies for multiple social media platforms and audiences.* Proficiency in social media management, image and video design tools.* Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.* Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including historically underserved communities.* Excellent judgment in sensitive and confidential situations, and the ability to follow established protocols.* Verbal and written communication skills with a focus on providing customer service to meet the needs of a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, and community partners.* Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a busy environment with flexibility, accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.* Willingness and ability to engage in regular evening and weekend work is required.* Valid driver's license. Ability to travel to recruitment events, fairs, and partner locations.Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. and set up a simple display.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, regulations, policies & procedures.* Experience in a unionized environment.* Working knowledge of talent acquisition and human resources practices.* PHR or SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP * Marketing background.Work Environment
