About the Role:
- We are seeking a Data Center Technician to join our team at a leading technology company.
- The role involves ensuring overall availability and reliability of data center operations to meet defined service levels.
- This position may require participation in a primary responder rotation, monitoring infrastructure, coordinating response to incidents, and partnering with other teams to resolve issues impacting service availability.
- The role may involve evening, weekend, holiday, and night work to ensure global data centers operate reliably.
- Candidates should be able to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and react quickly to issues.
- Travel within and outside the regional work area is required, so a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license are necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents
- Participate in on-call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities
- Assist in training and onboarding new team members
- Lift and move equipment up to 35 pounds, and participate in group lifts for heavier items
- Work in a 24/7 environment, participate in primary responder rotation, and provide after-hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments - Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways
Education Qualification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required - Technical certifications or relevant experience preferred
Required Skills:
- Experience with server rack installations and hardware break-fix - Knowledge of troubleshooting network issues
- Familiar with computer software and network hardware
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and participate in on-call duties
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move equipment as required
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for travel within the regional work area
