Members of underrepresented groups, minorities, women, veterans, persons with disabilities, and all persons committed to diversity and inclusive excellence are strongly encouraged to apply.The Administrative Assistant II, Flight Training Coordinator, works from the Bridgewater State University Flight Training Center at New Bedford Regional Airport located in New Bedford, MA. The Flight Training Coordinator provides primary administrative support of the following: long and short term flight scheduling, daily flight training scheduling, BSU aircraft maintenance, flight training stage check process, BSU flight training safety program, and student employment. This position supports the BSU Aviation flight safety program as it relates to the maintenance and availability of aircraft and coordinates all aspects of mandatory aircraft inspection cycles to ensure compliance and maximize aircraft availability for student training events. This position reports to the Chief Instructor.
TOUR OF DUTY: M-F, 7:00 am - 3:00pmMonday - Friday (Saturday and Sunday as days off)*

This position is located at the BSU Flight Training Center located at New Bedford Regional Airport in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Essential Duties
* Performs semester, weekly, daily, and on the moment scheduling of BSU ground and flight training events for approximately 15 Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs), approximately 150-200 students, and 13 BSU aircraft.* Coordinates with Flight Training Center staff to ensure student enrollment is processed in a timely manner and that student financial requirements are met.
* Validates and processes all student training invoices via BSU ConnectCard Reader and BSU flight coordination software program. Checks all invoices for accuracy and validates student account balances before training is conducted.
* Assists a multicultural and diverse group of students with problem resolution concerning scheduling conflicts and coordinates with other BSU staff members for effective problem resolution. Elevates issues as necessary to the Chief Instructor.
* In a fair and equitable manner, monitor the BSU Aviation Flight Training Stage Check process and coordinate with CFIs and other BSU Staff members to maximize student progress.
* Assists the Chief Instructor to ensure all BSU flight events comply with operational safety and with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), local and BSU regulations/requirements.
* Monitors FAA mandatory aircraft maintenance inspection cycles to maximize aircraft availability for student training and ensures that all scheduled maintenance actions are completed.
* Communicates BSU aircraft squawks and coordinates with the Maintenance Director and the Chief Instructor on all unscheduled maintenance requirements to ensure most efficient method of repair.
* Publishes and communicates relevant information for all scheduled events such as local weather forecasts, Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), Notices to Airmen (NOTAM's), and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
* Coordinates with the Chief Instructor and Maintenance Director for the appropriate release or hold of flight events.
* Dispatches all training assets (e.g. aircraft and AATDs) in a timely manner and enforces compliance of scheduled departure times. Monitors all arrivals and departures via BSU ground communications.
* Assists Business Manager with monitoring of departmental fuel pro-card .
* Coordinates daily aircraft fueling requests and ensures that requests are processed in a timely fashion. Ensures proper accounting of requirements and deliveries are met. Functions as backup to the Business Manager for processing of fueling and maintenance purchase orders and invoices.
* In a fair and equitable manner, supervises all student dispatchers ensuring proper amount of resource utilization for all Flight Training Center operational periods.
* Coordinates with BSU Student Employment office to administer local Flight Training Center employee orientation program and student employment requirements for all new student dispatchers.
* Performs additional duties as assigned.
